Am I Planning To Fry My Cameras Sensor?
There are many things that I would love to get in front of my camera.
Over the years I have photographed many different things like Concerts, Birds, Waterfalls, landscapes and even a model or two and have been inspired by even more photographers to try things like Astrophotography, Product Photography, Food Photography, Portrait Photography and so many other things!!!

A couple of years ago, I was able to get some cool shots with my OMD E-M1 MKll and 50-200 2.8-3.6 4/3rds lens (with a MMF-3 adapter of course) of the Comet NEOWISE (or C/2020 F3 NEOWISE) and that just fueled even more of my desire to dip my toes into Astrophotography. I even got a Telescope, now to just finally get the parts I need to be able hook my camera up to it.
I have tried getting shots of the Milky Way in the past, even bought a Sky Tracker to use. what a great thing to use! I will get more into that later.
And every now and then there is even a chance of the Northern Lights, and I am out there.
I am not sure if shooting a Solar Eclipse is considered Astrophotography, but it is something that is probably not going to happen this close to me again in my lifetime. I do believe the next one after April 8th will be in 2044.
To help me along the way to do this, I have been looking online for facts about the upcoming Eclpise. It will happen on April 8th 2024 (Just a few short weeks away!!) and it will be cutting a 115 mile wide swath from Texas thru the midwest and onwards towards Niagra Falls before leaving the US along the northern part of New England. If your outside of that swath, you will still be able to see the eclipse, you just wont be able to see the total eclipse for the most part.

There are so many questions I have about this, like where will be the best place around for me to see it, how am I going to shoot it, what am I going to need to shoot it, how am I going edit it afterwards. Those are just a few of the questions. Over the next couple of weeks, I will be coming up with the answers to most of my questions and sharing them here. There are quite a few websites that can help you learn more about this fantastic event. Here are a few that I have used to learn more about the Eclipse.

I think I have bored you enough for one weekend. In the next post, I will be sharing some of the programs I am also using or plan on using to help me along with my journey to obtain a personal Holy Grail. Thank you for being here at the beginning of this journey, hopefully you will get as much out of it as I will.
