Or Am I Planning To Fry My Retinas?
It is getting down to the wire……
Only a few more hours to go and tomorrows forecast here in Connecticut is calling for clouds tomorrow afternoon. I am not going to have the chance to head up North to an artea with Totality, so going to try to set up in a spot where I can do this while at work.
So here is what I got to work with……

The camera I plan on using is my workhorse, the Olympus OMD E-M1 MKll coupled with the Olympus 75-300mm On the lens will be a Celestial Optical ND100000 Nuetral Density Filter (A 20 stop Solar Filter). The camera will be sitting on top a really expensive Electronic tripod head from Benro called the Polaris, which will be perched on a really really used and abused tripod from Vanguard. I will be setting up and running the Polaris with a Revvl 5 tablet.
Gotta Love Kickstarter……. somtimes…..
So I spent a part of my day today working on how I was going to set this up tomorrow. I havent really spent much time with this cool little toy so I did a bit of trial and error. I figured out how to set up the Astro part of the Polaris, I put it on upside down the first time. Then calibrated it. Figured out how to set it up to track the sun and take a picture of the Sun every minute or so. It did very well over the 30 minutes I set it up for. I am thinking it is time for a new tripod, I couldnt get the ball head off of the tripod. Thank God the ball head can take the Polaris.

I think my playing around is coming to fruition. The lens filter is working great. I love seeing the sunspots. I colored it a bit in Lightroom, due to the filter, it comes out looking like a Blank and White image.

I am headed to get some sleep, good luck tomorrow and watch for some of my pics on my socials!
