Why aint I moving????
An Autobiography

Once again welcome to my new website/blog/collection of web debris…..
I am going to take a little more time to tell you about me and why I am doing this and what I am doing, well what I plan on doing with this. Not that My plans usually work out. My last try at a blog of some type was not a total success, but then it wasnt a total failure either.
My Biggest Claim to Fame…… If you can call it that.
Is that I claim to be somewhat of a Photographer. I started off as a kid using various pocket cameras, you remember those 110 film things? I always had one around. Eventually I moved up to a Canon T70 and then a AE-1. Shooting anything I could and hoping to have the money to get the film developed. Then I took a break from it.
I got back into it working for a company that went to dance studios and dance schools and took their pics and oh yea, that guy who came to your school for your school pics? That was me to LOL.Also back in those days Wal Mart and KMart had studios in them. All shooting on film. Then I stopped again.
Camera had broken and I couldnt replace it.

Now when I was working for the Studio that had me taking pictures of Dancers…
We would hold meetings with all of the local photographers and while having a pizza, discuss everything photography and how we are doing, ways to improve and a bit of training. Seeing how at the time, I had 3 young ones who were all enrolled in dance and agreed to play models for an afternoon for pizza and soda. Little did I know how that would play into my own photography journey, which was going to be taking another small break. It is so good to be in a better place nowadays then I was then. Actually was more then just a small break, I didnt plan on picking up a camera again.

My oldest daughter, Kim, showed an interest in photography in her early teens and eventually told me that she was interested in learning photography. It was a proud Dad moment. One of many Proud Dad moments I have had thru my life. High School Graduation for all of my kids, well there is one left, next year he will do that. When each one of my Grandkids were born, Watching each one of my kids thru the years and seeing what they have done and knowing the obstacles they have faced. It is hard not to be a Proud Dad. Unfortunately, Kim passed away not to long after telling me she was interested in photography. That is another story I will be getting into at another time.
I had told Tammy (My Wife), that I was wanting to get back into Photography, but didnt quite have the money at the time. Not long after, Circuit City, an electronics super store, went out of business and started selling off everything really cheap and lo and behold…… our tax refund came in and she went there to buy the kids a bunch of DVDs. I think we bought enough to stock a BlockBuster lol. She comes home and tells me about a Canon camera package that was on sell really really really cheap. I ran there but was to late. They had sold them all, all that was left was an Olympus E-520 DSLR with 2 lenses. I ended up getting that and an extra battery and camera bag for a tenth of what they were worth. So thats how it started.
I think it has been 15 years or so now and I still havent decided on the genre I am going to stick to, I love shooting Concerts, I love shooting Portraits, I love shooting Landscapes, I love shooting Waterfalls, I love shooting the Stars, I just love shooting.
The problem is, I dont always have the time.
I am hoping to share with you, the wandering reader…. my thoughts, my ideas, my work and how and what I am doing to bring them to life.
I am not the best photographer out there or the best writer out there. I am hoping that at the very least, my trials and tribulations will help you along your path.

These days I am shooting with a Olympus OMD E-M1 Mark II, a Micro 4/3rds mirrorless camera, well two of them actually, shooting concerts, you want to limit the amount of time spent changing lenses and it is also safer then changing lenses in an enviroment like a photo pit or in the crowd with crowd srufers going overhead or mosh pits banging around you. A variety of lenses, with the 12-40 f2.8 PRO from Olympus always on a body and the 50-200 f28-3.6 4/3rds (with the MMF-3 adapter so I can use it on the m4/3rds camera). In the bag is also the 8mm Fisheye, 60mm Macro, 75-300mm, 40-150mm and my latest favorites, Lensbaby Composer II with the Edge 50, Sweet 50 and Twist 60 optics. Ooooo lets not forget the Sol 22. I also have been playing around with Godox flashes using the AD200s and a AD600 for off camera flash work and a couple of TT350s if I need an on camera flash. So much I have learned, so much I am learning, so much more to learn! One day I will be comfortable with what I know……
As for the this……
The Website/Blog/Internet Debris Catcher…..
I will be posting some new content soon, I am working on my second installment of the Eclipse idea, I plan on changing out the recommended blogs soon and start a page where I will store the addresses for future use, I plan on revisiting some of my old posts over at my old blog and also share my past contributions to North East Rock Review and maybe a new gallery here and there. I might even post a few music related things to, maybe post a review or two here and there of stuff I have listened to or read. Who Knows. I do plan on being more consistent on my posting.
Welp for now, this will do. I will have the second part of the Eclipse planning soon.
